It was bound to happen wasn’t it, yep, another purchase of makeup that I probably don’t need. It’s always nice to receive a few treats in the post though, so I don’t think I will be banishing the addiction anytime soon. My excitement of unwrapping a package full of makeup, is like that of a kid at Christmas! Seriously.

First of all, on my list of goodies, is the gorgeous Illamasqua Empower Palette, full of natural, slightly sparkly and easily wearable shades. I love the fact it has the added bonus of the cream textured gun-metal shade, something I’m very excited to try out and have a play with. The colours are truly beautiful and I’m definitely one happy bunny! After making a thorough inspection, dabbing my fingers in and creating swatches, I was impressed with the pigmentation. I didn’t expect any less though. Soft and velvet to the touch and truly a pleasure to wear. A massive tick from me.
Next, was another product I was really excited about. The Bobbi Brown, Rich Lip Colour in Bikini Pink. A light but not too light, blue toned pink, that’s really pretty on the lips. I’m glad that I went for this colour, as it’s unlike any other lipsticks I have. It’s a winner! I actually really enjoy the consistency too, possibly not as long lasting as MAC lipsticks, but I’m still impressed. Nice one, Bobbi Brown!
And finally on the makeup front, was something I have been wanting for a while, but never got round to purchasing. The MAC Paint Pot in the shade Groundwork. A gorgeous, tan/light brown shade that is perfect for a base on a natural brown eye shadow look, which has been a look I’ve been pleasantly enjoying sporting lately. I can now see why everybody loves them so much! Easy to apply, long-lasting and no creasing – brilliant! Why did it take me so long to get one?
Not so much makeup now, but on the same line, was a book I’ve been curious about for a while. I was looking for something not too hard going and appealing to the eye, just for light-hearted reading on cosy nights in. I picked up the Bobbi Brown Makeup Manual. This does the job! I haven’t had a good, proper read through yet, but so far, I like what I see. It’s basically a book giving you decent and to the point advice/information on all things makeup related, with a large chunk dedicated to make up artistry. As I said, I haven’t had a good read through yet, but I have been enjoying the pretty images.
So, treats galore for me this month, although I must say I actually did restrain myself. Usually I tend to go a bit mad and buy a lot more and end up with a glum looking bank balance. I decided that was a bit silly…so this was my attempt at “cutting down”.
Do you have any of these and love them too? Let me know what you purchased this month!
