It’s hard to go a day without seeing some beautiful skinny women on the TV or on the cover of a magazine! It’s hard to not put yourself down or compare yourself to them, but when you really think about it, what makes them more beautiful than you?
The images we see on the magazines or on the TV are always and I mean ALWAYS air brushed to make them look flawless. Nobody is perfect or flawless, we all have things we don’t like about ourselves.
It’s so sad how society has made us believe that being flawless is the only way to be beautiful, that we have to be a particular size or have a particular type of face. Why would we all want to look the same? Where would be the fun in that?
I often feel really crap after looking through a magazine of beautiful models, with “perfect bodies”, but then I think how photo shopped and air brushed those images actually are. Our bodies and our face is what makes us unique and I truly believe that what is inside counts more than what is on the outside. Too often we see “beautiful” girls who quite frankly, haven’t got a care about anyone else but themselves. Who want’s to be like that?
Beauty, I think, is from within. We can make ourselves look better with fashionable clothes and makeup, but if we don’t have a kind and true personality, does the other stuff really make you “beautiful”?
There is so much pressure nowadays for both girls and boys to be fashionable and look good. So much pressure, that some end up having seriously bad opinions on themselves and even end up with depression. Society is actually making people depressed!
Beauty isn’t just about looking good, it’s about everything around us. Beauty is in a view from the top of a hill or looking at the sea. Beauty is a kind gesture to an old man trying to cross the road, or helping someone carry their shopping!
I guess what I am trying to say is, beauty is all around us. So what if you don’t have a size 8 figure and the perfect legs? So what if your face is rounder than you would like. That is YOU! And we should love ourselves, because if we don’t, who else will?
Look at yourself in the mirror and say to yourself “I am beautiful” and truly believe it. You don’t have to be perfect, because perfect isn’t natural!
So….to sum up my random little ranty type post (I’m not really sure what this is!). I really do think that if we all carry on the way we are, a lot more people will end up depressed and down and life is way too short for that. You are beautiful….so just carry on being you!
