With the amount of different foundations out there, it can be hard to find a foundation for your skin type! With all the mumbo jumbo on the back, sometimes it’s hard to actually understand what it all means and what ingredients will be good or bad for the type of skin you have.
After doing a bit of research for myself, I thought it would be a good idea to write a post about it and list some of the best foundations for different skin types, hopefully helping a few of you as well as myself! (Bearing in mind these are just recommendations that I have found from searching online, so do try them out before hand and see if they work for you, before purchasing!).
Best foundations for oily skin:
Clarins Ever Matte Oil-Free Foundation which is £24, suits oily skin perfectly due to it being oil free! This foundation mattifies as well as controlling oil and shine, with it’s ingredients of Tanaka Powder, Carthusian Pink and Chrysin. This foundation, although being a matte formula, doesn’t dry out the skin, but in fact works to hydrate it!
Estee Lauder Invisible Fluid Makeup, which is £27. This is another great foundation for oily skin, due to it being oil-free. This also works with your natural skin tones, giving you a flawless and fresh appearance. The great thing about this, is that is enables your skin to breath and doesn’t create a chalked or caked on look.
Laura Mercier Oil Free Supreme Foundation, at £33. This foundation is said to quickly absorb into the skin, and is easy to blend. With a light weight and non drying formula, this creates a long lasting matte finish, whilst preventing excess oil!
Rimmel Stay Matte Foundation which is £5.99. I have used this foundation and it definitely did control any excess oil, it also looks really lovely on the skin. This has really good coverage and creates a nice matte finish.
Chanel Perfection Lumiere Long Wear Flawless Fluid Makeup, £36. This foundation has an oil free formula, and light texture which glides into the skin creating a long lasting dewy complexion.
Best foundations for dry skin:
Clinique Repairwear Laser Focus Makeup which is £27.50. This foundation covers and protects and smoothes out the driest of skin. It is also packed full of anti aging ingredients, which dry skin is more prone to!
MAC Face & Body Foundation, £26.50. This is packed full of moisurising emollients, for softer and smoother looking skin. The coverage for this foundation is light and natural.
Estee Lauder Resilience Lift Extreme Foundation, £31.50. This foundation is perfect for more mature ladies, as it really works hard against drying of the skin. It instantly smooths and perks up the skin, with a buildable coverage.
L’Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Foundation, £10.99. A slightly cheaper option than the others, perfect for dry skin. It has a silky liquid formula, which will help to prevent patches and evens out your skin tone!
