When Life Gives You Lemons…Make A Homemade Scrub Outta Them!

This Lemon Sugar scrub can be used on both the face and the body, and is an excellent way of removing dead skin cells, and brightening your complexion!

It’s really simple to make too, so anyone can get busy in the kitchen and prepare this beauty!

What you will need:

2 tablespoons of Lemon Juice

2 tablespoons of Sugar

And a very small amount of Olive Oil, which will create a paste!

What to do:

Simply mix all the ingredients together and there you have it, your own facial and body scrub!

Simply apply to your face gently, massaging the face and neck, or where desired on your body! And enjoy the benefits. Moisturize after use.

This scrub is brilliant for those who suffer from acne, as the lemon acts as a natural cleanser and is a natural source of Vitamin C! Lemon is often used to tighten pores and to prove a brighter complexion. The sugar helps to exfoliate, removing all the nasty dead skin cells from your skin. And the extra benefit is from the Olive oil, which is high in Vitamin E! This moisturizes and soothes the skin.

You can also add honey if you want to, and if so, add about 1 tablespoon! Honey has many benefits, and is a natural anti oxidant!

Give it a try and let me know what you think?

Good Skincare Recommendations?

Hello beauties..

I am looking for some good recommendations on some really good eye creams/serums and also face serums, preferably with anti aging ingredients.

I figured, it’s about time I start to really look after my skin, as I won’t be young forever, and I do put lots of crap on my face! I’m not really much of an expert when it comes to skincare products, so I need a bit of help!

So if you have some good recommendations of any products that you really love and think that I will…please share with me!

Thanks 🙂

How To Feed Your Beauty Addiction, If You Are On A Budget..

Okay ladies, I’m pretty sure most of us have the problem of loving the luxuries in life, yet have a very tight budget!

I for one, am a key example of this. I adore treating myself, but like so many others, find it so difficult to maintain my beauty addiction with the amount of money I have. Budgeting is something that I am luckily very good at, so I have a few tips to help you out!

Make sure that you completely understand how much money you need for bills etc and how much you can spend on yourself. Every time I get paid, I calculate exactly how much money I need for bills and how much is mine to spend. This helps me to never go overboard and enables me to feel relaxed when purchasing items!

Compose a “Wish List”:

Composing a “Wish List” helps you know what it is you want and need. I often find that if I just head into a shop without knowing exactly what I want, then I usually overspend and go a bit mental! Sticking to a list, will help you have control on your spending!

You don’t have to get it all at once!:

This is something I have only just taught myself. I find it so hard to pick and choose what I want, because I want it all! However, there is plenty time to get everything you want, you just have to collect them up slowly. Having a big blow out and buying everything at once, will more than likely leave your bank account looking very glum! Trust me, I’ve been there!

Get testers and samples first:

In order to not waste your money, a good idea is to get samples and testers beforehand to see if the product works for you. If it doesn’t, you know not to buy it!

Keep a journal of your budget and keep on top of your bank balance:

If you have a journal with what you have spent, and what money has gone out of your bank, then you are more than likely able to keep control of the balance! This then enables to treat yourself a bit more!

Hope this helps!

Let me know some of your tips! 🙂

Rimmel Apocalips Review!

Hello my lovelies!

I have a review on the new and highly talked about “Rimmel Apocalips” for you!

I was feeling a bit low this morning, so I thought I would head into the town and treat myself! Luckily I had some extra points on my boots card, so I thought I would purchase something I have heard so much about…

I decided to pick up one of the Rimmel Apocalips! One of the most anticipated products of the year, a colour and lipgloss all rolled into one. Who could resist?! Not me it seems..

I went for the colour “Apocaliptic”, which is actually very similar to MAC Girl About Town, which I already have, but the colour selection in my local boots was very poor, usually most things are there! It is one of those boots that has the necessities rather than the luxuries! But anyway…

The colour pay off from this product, for the price ,I have to say is bloody good! They are a lipstick and lipgloss all in one, and on the same level as a lot of higher end brands with a much higher price.

I wasn’t really sure what to expect from this, but after hearing good reviews, I thought I would pick it up and review it for you guys. After trying it on, I am actually very pleased. I will say though, that there is a bit of bleeding, so with hindsight it is probably best to apply a lip liner before hand.

It has a very creamy formula, which I really like when it comes to a lipgloss, as I think its much easier to apply and lasts a little longer. The wand is really easy to use, and covers the whole lip, so makes for an easier application, although again because of the bleeding from it, you do have to take care when applying as I have noticed that it stains your skin quite bad if gets around the mouth – not a good look!

They are relatively long lasting too, however due to the bleeding, it can be quite irritating! So, definitely apply a lip liner first in order to stop that from happening, because lets face it, it’s pretty annoying and doesn’t look the best! Overall though, I do love this and think it will be a really nice go to gloss for a night out. This colour is very pretty, probably best for a night look rather than day, but still, very pretty! I want more!

My MAC Eyeshadow Collection..

Hello beauties!

Today, I have a post on my MAC eyeshadow collection, it’s only very small (4) but hopefully will grow larger throughout this year!

I am a huge fan of MAC eyeshadows, as they are so beautifully pigmented, brilliant to blend with and the colour selection is outstanding. They really are worth the money.

So, let’s get started!

My first eyeshadow is Wookwinked, a Veluxe Pearl finish. The colour is a gorgeous, dark gold shade and blends amazingly! It is so pigmented and one of my most used eyeshadows. It looks gorgeous on a night out as the gold adds a bit of glamour to the face. Definitely will be repurchasing this one again when it runs out as it such a pretty colour. This would suit all eye colours too, which is always a bonus.

My second is the wonderful Sumptious Olive, again another Veluxe Pearl finish (my favourite finish, as you can probably tell!). This is just the most gorgeous khaki colour with added pearl to create a gorgeous shine to on the eye. This, with woodwinked is just…perfect! Meant to be some might say.. like a love story! I will show you a look with these two colours together soon!

Then, there is Mythology, which was actually given to me for my birthday from my Best friend (thanks!) Mythology is a Luster finish, and is a gorgeous bronze toned colour that again goes beautifully with the two mentioned above! It is more sheer than the Veluxe Pearl finishes, yet still highly pigmented and easy to blend. Gorgeeouss!

And finally, given to me again for my birthday from my Dad (with a little help..well a lot of help from his girlfriend!) is Keep It Cool, from the pro long wear range! This is a very deep brown, almost black and is so lovely. It goes great on a smokey eye, for use in the corners, or as an under eye liner. It is extremely pigmented, and lasts for ages! I really like this one!

So there you go guys, a little description on my MAC eyeshadows. Within the next couple of months I will be buying a DSLR camera, so the picture quality will be a lot better!
